The Philadelphia Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two young armed carjackers, one of whom investigators believe may be as young as 10 years old.
Authorities have released a video of the suspects involved in four carjackings at gunpoint in North Philadelphia between Aug. 16 and Aug. 22.
The initial incident occurred just before 10 p.m. on Aug. 16 when the two suspects approached a victim sitting outside his vehicle on Girard Avenue.
Armed with a handgun, the suspects approached on foot and stole the man’s vehicle, according to police.
On Aug. 18, the suspects allegedly approached another man sitting in his vehicle on W. Cumberland Street around 2 a.m.
Reportedly armed with a handgun, they proceeded to steal the man’s vehicle.
Both suspects were captured on camera walking towards Cumberland Street.
The third carjacking took place around 4:45 a.m. on Aug. 21 on W. Ontario Street.
The victim was sitting in his parked vehicle when the suspects approached, knocked on the window with a handgun, and stole the vehicle, as per the police report.
Police have stated that the suspects were involved in a car crash on Allegheny Avenue with the vehicle from the second incident before stealing the third victim’s vehicle.
At approximately 6 a.m. on Aug. 22, a 74-year-old woman was approached by the two suspects as she was walking to her vehicle.
Allegedly, the suspects pushed the woman to the ground and stole her keys and wallet.
