Ontario Provincial Police has released a video of a collision in Markham that resulted in two individuals sustaining life-threatening injuries. The police are seeking to identify the suspects who deliberately threw rocks at the vehicle involved in the incident.

shows dashcam footage from Sept. 20, capturing a vehicle in Markham running a red light and colliding with another vehicle. According to the police, the driver lost control of the vehicle after being struck by a rock, resulting in the crash.
The collision, which occurred at 8:45 p.m., left two individuals with life-threatening injuries. One of the victims has been discharged from the hospital, while the other remains under medical care.

by the police, the rock-throwing incident is one of 20 similar incidents in the region over the past few months. Ontario Provincial Police are investigating 11 incidents along Highway 48, while the York Regional Police are looking into the remaining nine.

Thirty minutes earlier, another driver had a large rock thrown at their moving vehicle by occupants of a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction. Based on multiple reports, the OPP suspects the involvement of a SUV and its occupants in the rock-throwing incidents, although no descriptions have been provided as of yet.
The OPP is urging anyone with information on the vehicle or its passengers to reach out to investigators.
