A Quebec man accused of using his truck to kill three men will have his next court appearance in early December to determine his trial date.
Steeve Gagnon is facing a total of 14 charges related to the incident in Amqui, Que., on March 13, 2023, including three counts of first-degree murder.
The case was brought before a judge on Tuesday and postponed until Dec. 2, when a trial date for next year is expected to be set.
In addition to the murder charges, Gagnon is also charged with nine counts of attempted murder and two counts of dangerous driving causing death in connection with the alleged attack.
The incident involved a truck striking multiple groups of pedestrians on a main street in the town, about 350 kilometers northeast of Quebec City, in what authorities have characterized as an intentional act.
Gagnon surrendered himself following the attack, which resulted in the deaths of Gérald Charest, Jean Lafrenière, and Simon-Guillaume Bourget.
