I have recently started to read multiple books at a time, something I never used to do. I typically read one novel and one nonfiction book simultaneously. Lately, my nonfiction reads have focused on intention, manifestation, and the law of attraction, topics that have intrigued me for a while. Most of these books are available through Kindle Unlimited, as my local library lacks a good selection in this genre.
While I still enjoy print books, Kindle books are gentler on my eyes. I have also dabbled in large print books, preferring them over audio books. I find listening to audio books akin to listening to a podcast or the radio, rather than actual reading.
Currently, I am exploring the 6 Phase Meditation Method by Vishen Lakhiani, a meditation approach that appeals to me due to its simplicity and lack of extensive time commitment. Although I am not a regular meditator, I am giving this method a chance. The author, founder of Mind Valley, delves into the power of intention and success, which I find intriguing.
Among the recent books I have read, Identity by Nora Roberts stands out for its blend of suspense and romance, offering an engaging read. Sheila Weller’s Girls Like Us, focusing on Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and Carly Simon, particularly captivated me due to my admiration for King’s songwriting.
Other noteworthy reads include On Herring Cove: Mr. Rosen and His 43 Lb. Anxiety by Michael Kroft, Convenience Store Woman by Sakaya Murata, and The Women by Kristin Hannah, all of which left a positive impression on me.
However, not all books resonated equally with me. End of Story by A.J. Finn failed to capture my interest, while The Sound of Settling by Tara Dublin and The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride offered unique and compelling narratives worth exploring.
