The lawsuit claims that Meta Platforms, Inc. censored speech supporting the presidential candidate, specifically targeting the documentary ‘Who Is Bobby Kennedy?’ on Facebook and Instagram. Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy and his super PAC have taken legal action against Meta for election interference, alleging that the company shadowbanned the documentary. The lawsuit asserts that Meta suppressed content supporting Mr. Kennedy and misled users about their actions, threatening suspension for sharing or viewing the film. Furthermore, Meta labeled the documentary as containing inappropriate content and removed user comments, according to the complaint. Additionally, the lawsuit accuses Meta of colluding with the Biden administration to tilt the playing field in their favor. The legal complaint also references a Congressional report detailing collusion between Facebook and the White House to censor critics of the Biden administration, including Mr. Kennedy. The lawsuit emphasizes the importance of reaching voters with accurate information about Mr. Kennedy’s candidacy to potentially impact the outcome of the 2024 election. Former President Bill Clinton’s advisor, Jay Carson, produced the documentary and highlighted the tactics used by big corporations to attack challengers during campaigns.
Carson stated, “they accuse you of being dishonest.”
If the accusation of dishonesty doesn’t stick, they resort to labeling their target as an anti-semite and a racist.
“There are no two insults in America more damaging than those,” Mr. Carson remarked. “Except for being called crazy. Crazy, or kook, or crank, or nutjob are their go-to insults. That’s their ultimate weapon.
“If they can convince everyone that you’re a crazy nutjob, everything you say is called into question and they can continue promoting whatever product or idea you questioned. And the scary part is: It actually works.”
