At the Libertarian National Convention, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. received applause for criticizing government lockdowns, deficit spending, and advocating against America policing the world.
His stance made me eager to interview him, and this month, I finally had the opportunity to do so. Watch the interview here.
During our conversation, Kennedy spoke about America’s growing debt, pointing out that President Trump increased the debt by $8 trillion and President Biden is on track to surpass him.
While Kennedy expressed intentions to cut spending, his campaign promises, such as providing “affordable” housing through federal programs, raise concerns about reducing the debt effectively.
When questioned about specific cuts, Kennedy proposed cutting military spending in half and focusing on wasteful programs for budget reductions.
Despite his claims of prioritizing economic growth, Kennedy’s proposed cuts may not be sufficient to address the nation’s increasing debt, especially considering his plans for new spending initiatives.
Kennedy’s views on climate change have evolved over the years, advocating for free markets and an end to subsidies. However, his involvement in government-backed solar farms raises questions about his commitment to these principles.
Regarding vaccines and other contentious issues, Kennedy’s perspectives have drawn criticism from both Democrats and Republicans, resulting in limited opportunities for public debates.
