After Toronto’s flash flooding on July 16, major roads, including the Don Valley Parkway, have been reopened. Over 167,000 Hydro One customers lost power, with 4,000 still affected by outages as of 8 a.m. local time.
This weather event is compared to Toronto’s 2013 flooding, causing around $1 billion in damages. Environment Canada reported that some areas received 100 millimetres of rain, exceeding the daily record set in 1941.
