A Florida woman has been charged with the murder of her roommate, who went missing in Orlando on Christmas Day in 2022, as per the police report.
Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, aged 42, was apprehended in Connecticut on Thursday and is facing charges of second-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence, and grand theft in relation to the disappearance of her roommate, Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, also 42.
Despite nearly two years passing since Medina-Pacheco was last seen, her body has yet to be discovered, as confirmed by the Orlando Police Department.
Victoria-Gonzalez contacted the police on December 27, 2022, reporting that she had not seen her roommate for two days. However, upon further investigation, detectives found several inconsistencies in Victoria-Gonzalez’s account of events.
A search warrant was executed at their residence, where substantial evidence was uncovered, indicating a violent altercation had taken place.
Following a thorough investigation involving various law enforcement agencies at local, state, and federal levels, detectives discovered that Victoria-Gonzalez had relocated to Hartford, Connecticut.
Orlando police traveled to her Connecticut residence, conducted an interview, and subsequently charged her with the death of Medina-Pacheco based on probable cause. Victoria-Gonzalez was then taken into custody.
A video of the arrest shared by OPD shows Victoria-Gonzalez in a bright red dress being escorted down a hallway by officers.
No further details regarding Medina-Pacheco’s disappearance have been disclosed by the authorities.
