The Ukrainian president has stated that his country’s air defenses have been working tirelessly against Russia’s recent attacks. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Ukraine launched 34 drones towards Moscow on Nov. 10, but the attempt was thwarted by the Russian military’s air defense systems. The ministry reported that a total of 70 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed over various regions of Russia.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine confirmed that Russia had launched a significant number of drones and guided aerial bombs against his country. This escalation in attacks comes shortly after the U.S. presidential election, where President-elect Donald Trump campaigned on resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict swiftly.
Zelenskyy expressed his appreciation for President Trump’s commitment to a ‘peace through strength’ approach and emphasized the importance of mutual political and economic cooperation between the two nations. He also mentioned a productive conversation with Trump post-election and reiterated Ukraine’s determination to decide the terms of ending the war on its soil.
