The Father of Philadelphia Eagles Star Saquon Barkley Caught with Loaded Gun
The father of Philadelphia Eagles superstar Saquon Barkley was allegedly caught with a loaded pink gun stashed in his Corvette while driving in the Bronx. Alibay Barkley, 55, claimed the family needed the weapon for safety because of who his son is, according to new court documents.
Alibay Barkley was pulled over for covered license plates in Mott Haven, Bronx, where the officer found the pink SSCY model firearm with eight live cartridges in the magazine in the center console of his car.
According to Barkley, the gun belonged to his wife and was kept for safety due to their frequent visits to the Bronx. However, Barkley did not have a New York State license or permit to carry the gun and ammunition, leading to multiple weapon possession-related charges.
Barkley’s arrest history includes a prior gun charge that landed him in jail, prompting his family’s move to Pennsylvania for a fresh start. Despite his troubled past, Saquon Barkley, who currently plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, has spoken about the importance of learning from his father’s mistakes.
Alibay Barkley’s next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday as the legal proceedings continue.
