A man in Florida who drove a semi-truck into a strip club after being kicked out sent alarming texts to a friend before the incident, according to police.
Dylan Fogle, the suspect, messaged a childhood friend saying, âGoodbye,â and predicting he would be charged with vehicular manslaughter, as per an arrest report.
Fogle, a 25-year-old from North Carolina, faces charges including first-degree murder, attempted murder, vehicular homicide, and DUI-related offenses.
He sustained injuries to his face after the violent incident that resulted in the death of one person at Emperors Gentleman Club in Tampa.
Police found Fogle intoxicated and stumbling at the scene, where the truck crashed into a group of people, killing one person and injuring two others.
While Fogle claimed the crash was accidental due to a stuck accelerator, witnesses suggested he may have been targeting a person he had an altercation with earlier.
Video footage showed the sequence of events leading up to the tragic incident, where Fogle drove the truck through the crowd, resulting in the death of a patron.
Despite Fogle’s claims of losing control of the vehicle, witnesses contradicted his statement, indicating he intentionally drove towards the group of people.
Following the incident, Fogle was also found to have a blood alcohol content above the legal limit, adding to the severity of the charges against him.
His former childhood friend expressed shock at Fogle’s actions, stating that his behavior was unexpected and not in line with his personality.
The incident has left a community in shock and raised questions about the motives behind such a violent act.
âI donât believe that he planned on surviving it,â said Angelise Ortiz, the recipient of Fogle’s final text before the tragic events unfolded.
