Senate to Vote on IVF Access

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has expressed hope for a different outcome this time, emphasizing the importance of federal protections for IVF. The bill has sparked a debate on the protection of a woman’s right to IVF, with Republicans being called upon to show where they stand on the issue. Former President Donald Trump has also pledged support for IVF treatments, stating that under his administration, insurance companies and the government would cover the costs. IVF has been a focal point in the election, with Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz sharing his personal experience of using a similar procedure to IVF called intrauterine insemination (IUI) to have his first child.
