A tragic incident unfolded in Pawlet, Vermont, where Brian Crossman Jr., 23, of Granville, New York, was arrested for the alleged killing of his father, stepmother, and stepbrother. The victims were identified as Brian Crossman Sr., 46, Erica Crossman, 41, and Colin Taft, 13. The shootings took place inside the family home early Sunday morning in the small town of Pawlet near the New York state line.
According to state police, Crossman Jr. faces three counts of aggravated murder, and evidence linking him to the crime includes digital information, statements, injuries, and interviews. He was taken into custody by the New York State Police and is currently held without bail. An initial court appearance is expected in Glens Falls, New York.
Brian Crossman Sr. was a member of the Pawlet Selectboard, a group elected by residents to oversee town affairs. The selectboard members expressed their shock and grief over the loss, with a vacant seat and flowers in remembrance of Crossman Sr. at their recent meeting.
