According to TSA, a stowaway successfully managed to board a Delta flight from New York’s JFK Airport to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, raising concerns for both U.S. and French authorities. The woman was only discovered mid-flight and was detained upon arrival in Paris.
An onboard video shared by a passenger captured the moment the plane’s captain informed passengers of the situation, stating, “We’re just waiting for the police to come on board… they’ve directed us to keep everyone on the airplane until we sort out the extra passenger who’s on the plane.”
Delta responded to the incident with a statement emphasizing their dedication to safety and ensuring a thorough investigation. The airline stated, “Nothing is of greater importance than matters of safety and security. That’s why Delta is conducting an exhaustive investigation of what may have occurred and will work collaboratively with other aviation stakeholders and law enforcement to that end.”
The Epoch Times reached out to Delta for further comment regarding the incident.
It remains unclear how the stowaway was able to breach security measures and board the aircraft without a valid boarding pass. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) disclosed that the woman successfully passed through security checkpoints, including advanced imaging and baggage scanning, but managed to bypass identity verification and boarding checks.
Despite this breach, the TSA confirmed that the woman did not possess any prohibited items. The agency stated to media outlets, “The individual bypassed two identity verification and boarding status stations and was able to board the aircraft.”
