A stranger punches a man unconscious in Queens park over water balloon incident
According to police sources, a stranger punched a 56-year-old man unconscious during a dispute over a child throwing a water balloon at Lawrence J. Virgilio Playground in Sunnyside Gardens, Queens.
The altercation occurred around 7:20 p.m. on Sunday when the attacker became enraged by a child throwing a water balloon in the playground and proceeded to punch the victim in the face, causing him to fall unconscious.
The victim, whose relationship to the child is unknown, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center and is currently in stable condition. The assailant, who was accompanied by a child in images released by the NYPD, fled the scene and remains at large.
