Police body cam footage revealed that one of the individuals suspected of being involved in the burglary at Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s home was wearing a Bengals winter hat when they were stopped by police earlier this month.
Sergio Cabello, Jordan Sanchez, Bastian Morales, and Alexander Huaiquil-Chavez are facing felony charges related to participating in a criminal gang and possessing criminal tools after a Jan. 10 traffic stop following an alleged improper lane change.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol released the footage, showing one of the individuals wearing the Bengals hat as an officer approached the vehicle to speak with them.
All four men are Chilean nationals, and police reports indicate they were either illegally in the country or had overstayed their permissions.
The approximately 21-minute video also showed the officer removing the driver from the vehicle to address the smell of marijuana inside.
Subsequent to detecting the odor of marijuana, police searched the car and discovered a designer bag and suitcase containing an LSU T-shirt. They also found window punchers wrapped in a towel in the glove box.
The body camera footage captured the men informing officers that they were en route to Florida at the time of the stop.
Burrow’s home was burglarized in December while he was playing against the Cowboys.
According to police reports, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Olivia Ponton was present in the house and called 911 to report the break-in.
Burrow expressed frustration about the invasion of his privacy following the burglary, stating, “I feel like my privacy has been violated in more ways than one.”
