A tragic incident unfolded as a teenage cheerleader from California tragically ended her life in what appears to be a suicide, just weeks after appearing on “America’s Got Talent,” as per reports.
The body of 17-year-old Emily Gold was discovered under an overpass in Rancho Cucamonga late Friday night, with authorities investigating it as a suicide, the Daily Mail disclosed.
The body had been struck by several vehicles before being found, with one vehicle failing to stop, according to California Highway Patrol.
Her passing occurred a month after her cheerleading team from Los Osos High School showcased their talent on the quarterfinals of the popular reality TV show “America’s Got Talent.”
Gold and her team impressed the judges, including Simon Cowell, who gave them a rare standing ovation during their audition in May.
“The moments we shared will never be enough,” expressed Gold’s brother Alex in an emotional Instagram post. “Half of my heart is missing without you… Rest in heaven Emily Gold because it will always be your world.”
Friends, community members, and supporters of the talented dancer have generously donated over $26,000 to a GoFundMe page established on Sunday to assist the Gold family during this difficult time.
“Let’s come together as a community and show our support for the Gold family during this challenging period. Rest assured, this fund will directly benefit the family to provide support and help with expenses,” wrote the page’s organizer, Jeanette Fierro.
