A Texas father, Pedro Luis Parra Pulgar, 46, is facing charges of three counts of attempted murder for allegedly intentionally setting his home on fire with his three children inside, according to police. His bond has been set at $2.25 million.
The incident took place on Nov. 6 at 31619 Eldorado Lane in the Polo Ranch Community of Fulshear, Texas. The suspect, Parra Pulgar, sustained extensive injuries in the fire and was hospitalized before being released on Thursday. He has since been booked into the Fort Bend County Jail.
The fire caused significant damage to the home, and first responders quickly arrived at the scene to contain the situation.
While two children were able to escape the burning home with minor injuries, a third child, a three-year-old, remained trapped inside.
Officers heard faint sounds coming from inside the home and entered through a bedroom window to rescue the trapped child.
The three-year-old, who suffered severe smoke inhalation, was airlifted to a nearby hospital and has since been released after receiving medical treatment.
