A Texas Sonic worker, Daniel Shrewsbury, was tragically shot and killed after an altercation with two female customers at the drive-through of the store in San Antonio. The incident occurred just days before his 34th birthday.
Shrewsbury confronted the customers around 9:30 p.m during his shift at the San Antonio location, and one of them allegedly shot him. He tried to retreat into the restaurant but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The San Antonio Police Department released photos of the two female customers involved in the argument with Shrewsbury, but no arrests have been made yet.
According to Shrewsbury’s family, the altercation started when the customers attempted to use counterfeit money to make a purchase at Sonic.
Shrewsbury’s brother described him as a role model and a caring individual who was loved by many. The family is devastated by his untimely death.
A witness at the drive-through heard gunshots and saw the aftermath of the shooting, expressing shock and fear at the tragic event.
Shrewsbury’s sister expressed her grief on social media, condemning the suspects as cowards for taking her brother’s life.
Shrewsbury’s mother remembered him as a caring man who was loved by many. A memorial was set up outside the Sonic in his honor.
