Latina nannies are America’s smartest people. They operate under the radar, avoiding income tax and Social Security tax, while also supporting each other in old age. By the time they retire, someone in their family likely owns a home without a loan.
This is a perfect market response to government interference in the economy. These nannies intuitively understand the true cost of progressivism.
In Part I of this article, examples are provided to highlight the hidden yearly cost to every U.S. taxpayer: including Medicare at $9,600, Social Security at $2,500, the national debt at $6,000, and the cost per parent to send a child to private school at $10,000. The total cost amounts to $28,100.
Progressives view these costs as necessary for their ideal economic system—European socialism. They believe that the rich should bear the brunt of these costs, with a desired tax rate of 70%. However, in reality, nannies pay only 5%.
Progressives are unconcerned about America’s $33 trillion national debt, as they believe in funding healthcare, education, Social Security, and national defense through borrowing. This redistribution of wealth aligns with their progressive ideals, even if it means increased borrowing.
Contrary to popular belief, the rich often avoid paying taxes by borrowing against their income-producing assets. For example, companies like Apple utilize tax havens to shelter their cash. This leads to the middle class bearing the brunt of tax burdens.
Progressives have also significantly impacted healthcare and education, leading to increased costs and decreased quality. The solution proposed is to return these sectors to the market, which could result in lower costs and improved outcomes.
Furthermore, the national debt continues to rise, mirroring the historical downfall of Rome due to debt servicing. It is essential for Americans to understand these economic challenges and prioritize individual responsibility to maintain the nation’s prosperity and freedom.
Living in the most prosperous nation in the world, under a constitutional democracy (which prevents direct democracy: mob rule), not fighting a world war, a nation with world-class health care, and an economy not in recession, what more do progressives want?
To alleviate their unwarranted anxiety, progressives should limit their computer and smartphone usage to one hour a day. Additionally, they should refrain from watching the news, as it is a business that thrives on promoting anxiety.
