Reject evil by speaking up for those who are silenced.

We have all contemplated the meaning of life in various ways. To me, life’s purpose is to live fully and then seek beyond, to explore what lies beyond this world, to uncover our fundamental origins.
At some point in our lives, we have all wondered, “Who am I, and where do I come from?” The essence of life is also found in the pursuit of genuine happiness—not fleeting happiness that disappears quickly, but a profound, soul-enriching joy.
Back then, Falun Gong was a popular qigong practice rooted in Buddhist teachings that was beloved by the Chinese populace. In the 1990s, around 100 million people in China practiced Falun Gong, and their loved ones, friends, neighbors, and colleagues held them in high regard. Falun Gong practitioners lived by the principles of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance, which formed the core of their spiritual practice.
Through its slow-moving exercises, Falun Gong also promoted health and well-being. This was acknowledged even by Chinese officials. Falun Gong is a holistic practice for the mind and body, embodying universal principles that have been valued throughout history in prosperous societies. If one were to describe in a single word what Falun Gong brought to people, it would be goodness.
The positive impact of Falun Gong on the Chinese people provoked a negative response from the CCP leadership. It wasn’t due to any wrongdoing on the part of practitioners—who were a force for good in society—but rather stemmed from the CCP’s internal nature, leading it to view Falun Gong as a threat. What does this mean? The CCP lacks a life-affirming agenda that nurtures human life. It suppresses individual freedoms, stifles free thought, and discourages people from questioning life’s meaning. Being atheistic, the CCP fears the existence of a higher power beyond the Party.
To prevent people from seeking life’s meaning and potentially connecting with the divine, the CCP resorts to lies and deceit, the antithesis of truth. It fosters hatred and conflict, the opposite of compassion. It silences dissenting voices, allowing only the Party’s narrative to prevail. In a single-party system, eradicating opposing viewpoints represents the height of intolerance, the opposite of tolerance.
Let’s examine how this depiction of the CCP plays out in reality: The CCP always needs a designated enemy to fill the existential void with struggle. In the 1950s, it targeted “counterrevolutionaries;” during the Cultural Revolution in the 1960s and 1970s, it labeled intellectuals and landowners as enemies, later turning on its own party members; and in 1989, it identified the democracy movement as the enemy, exemplified by the June 4th crackdown in Tiananmen Square where around 3,000 students were killed. On July 20, 1999, Falun Gong became the CCP’s next target of hatred.
No legitimate grievances were found with Falun Gong, and not all members of the Politburo supported the persecution, but then-CCP leader Jiang Zemin called for Falun Gong’s eradication. He famously said, “Destroy them physically,” aiming to wipe out Falun Gong within three months. Despite widespread repression, including forced organ harvesting, Falun Gong endured beyond Jiang’s timeline.
Twenty-five years since the persecution began, Falun Gong continues to be practiced worldwide by individuals seeking physical and spiritual betterment. Despite Jiang Zemin’s aggressive persecution, Falun Gong practitioners endured and peacefully resisted. They endured brainwashing, arbitrary detention, torture, and even state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting.
The CCP profited from persecuting Falun Gong practitioners by using them as a source of “transplant organs.” China’s transplant industry thrived on an endless supply of organs from Falun Gong practitioners, leading to immense profits. These individuals were blood-tested, medically examined, and categorized in detention facilities. When a transplant recipient arrived at a Chinese hospital, a matching Falun Gong prisoner of conscience would be identified and killed to harvest the desired organs.
China’s organ transplant industry thrived on the suffering of Falun Gong practitioners. China lacks an ethical organ donation system, with no transparency, traceability, or independent oversight. Forced organ harvesting is a key element of the CCP’s plan to wipe out Falun Gong through a “cold genocide,” a slow and deliberate genocide through attrition.
As we approach July 20, 2024, the 25th anniversary of the persecution of Falun Gong, it is crucial to remember that despite 25 years of heinous persecution and potentially millions of Falun Gong practitioners killed, they have not given up. They continue to uphold their beliefs and peacefully raise awareness about the CCP’s evil nature, defying the oppressive regime.
The brutal persecution persists, with forced organ harvesting still occurring today. To mark 25 years of resistance against one of the most vicious persecutions of the 21st century, a new petition has been launched to end the forced organ harvesting of living Falun Gong practitioners in China. This petition calls on people worldwide to stand against this cruelty and support the victims of this atrocity.
Join the fight against this injustice by signing the petition at FOHpetition.org and lending your voice to those who are silenced. Let’s come together to save lives and put an end to this inhumane practice.
