The CCP’s trade-driven wealth is fueling the growth of its military, aiming to surpass the U.S. military in power. This military expansion could enable the CCP to impose authoritarian measures globally at an accelerated rate.
This shift raises concerns about the erosion of Peru’s sovereignty and highlights the CCP’s agenda to expand its influence through strategic infrastructure projects like Chancay.
It is crucial for the U.S. and its allies to reassess their approach to CCP-controlled territories and prioritize trade relations with democracies and allied nations to safeguard global interests.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has no authority to exert control over China, let alone a Peruvian port thousands of miles away, especially if the Peruvian president was deceived into signing a contract that compromises the country’s sovereignty.
Simultaneously, the CCP is intimidating the U.S. Navy and our allies in regions like the South China Sea and Taiwan Strait, where we have the right to navigate under international law. As long as China continues to disrupt U.S. and allied shipping in these areas, there are various ways for the United States to reciprocate by disrupting CCP-controlled shipping to Latin America.
Unless the CCP withdraws its unlawful claims over Taiwan and the South China Sea, the United States could potentially implement a 30 percent tariff on China’s trade with Latin America to support our partners in the South China Sea, such as Taiwan and the Philippines, with their defense budgets. Failure to comply with the tax could result in the U.S. Navy seizing and selling China’s extensive cargo ships for a more impactful outcome.
Considering the escalating U.S. national debt, this fiscal strategy towards China mirrors the successful approach taken by Trump in the past. His initial tariffs on China, though initially surprising, were eventually embraced worldwide, with European nations now imposing their own tariffs on China. Failing to levy taxes on China’s global shipping could leave countries like Taiwan and the Philippines financially vulnerable and susceptible to manipulation by the CCP, ultimately posing a threat to the United States, democracy, freedom, human rights, international law, and the global community as a whole.
