Three years ago, Tren de Aragua was unheard of in New York City, but now this notorious Venezuelan “asylum-seeker” gang has become a major problem for the city.
The Post’s investigation into NYPD crime data shows that members of TdA have been arrested 517 times citywide this year alone.
A group of 41 Tren TDA gang members were responsible for 143 of these arrests, with nearly half of them occurring in Midtown’s busiest retail areas.
Out of the 517 arrests of TdA, “junior mafia” Los Diablos de la 42, and other related criminals, a significant 57% (295 arrests) were concentrated in Midtown.
This includes popular tourist spots like Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and Radio City Music Hall. The numerous felony charges of robbery, grand larceny, assault, and car theft without any arrests send a clear message to potential visitors that the city wants to attract.
The impact of TDA’s criminal activities extends to communities in the outer boroughs, such as Corona, where gang members are involved in gun and drug sales (particularly the dangerous fentanyl mix known as “pink cocaine”) and sex trafficking.
While these gang members are not the only criminals entering through the border opened by the Harris-Biden administration, they benefit from added impunity due to the administration’s reluctance to deport Venezuelans. This is because they accept Venezuela’s refusal as a final decision.
With Harris unable to acknowledge any mistakes made by Biden, her tough rhetoric will not solve the issues faced by New York City and other areas affected by the gang if she wins on Tuesday.
If there is to be any hope of relief from this threat and future ones that may arise if Tren de Aragua continues to thrive, America must elect Donald Trump and J.D. Vance.
