Trump praised her loyalty and dedication, highlighting her experience in fighting against legal challenges. Additionally, Trump announced his nominees for positions in the State Department, with Sen. Marco Rubio nominated to lead. Former Ambassador to Mexico Christopher Landau was nominated for deputy secretary of state, while Rubio aide Michael Needham was chosen as counselor of the Department of State. Trump emphasized Landau’s commitment to border security and national prosperity through an “America First Foreign Policy.” Furthermore, Trump named Michael Anton, a former National Security Council spokesman, for the position of director of policy planning at the State Department. Anton, a staunch supporter of Trump, previously served in the administration of President George W. Bush. Lastly, Trump extended his congratulations to state GOP Chairman Brian Schimming for his reelection to lead the Wisconsin GOP.
