Police in England apprehended a 34-year-old individual in connection with the deaths of two men, whose partial remains were discovered in suitcases near a suspension bridge. However, the identities of the victims and the reasons behind their killings remain unresolved at this time.
The suspect’s identity has not been disclosed by authorities, but they have mentioned that additional body parts from both victims were found in the man’s residence in west London.
The suspect was arrested by authorities in Avon and Somerset early on a Saturday morning, as stated in a police announcement.
A report was received on Wednesday night about a man with suspicious suitcases near the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol, approximately 150 miles west of London, according to a statement.
Police arrived within 10 minutes but were unable to locate the man, discovering the first suitcase instead.
A second suitcase was found shortly after, not far from the bridge.
The Metropolitan Police took charge of the investigation after more remains were found in the suspect’s apartment. The connection between the suspect and the heinous crime, as well as how authorities were led to search the apartment, remain unclear.
The victims have not been formally identified by the police, and the causes of death have yet to be determined.
According to a statement regarding the arrest, “Extensive inquiries are ongoing, however at this stage police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”
