Ukraine’s Top Diplomat Signals Willingness to Talk With Russia During First China Visit Since Start of War

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that Kyiv is prepared to engage with the Russian side if Moscow is willing to negotiate sincerely. During a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Guangzhou, Kuleba emphasized that Ukraine is open to restarting negotiations with Russia if there is a genuine willingness to negotiate in good faith. This message comes as Ukraine seeks to address the ongoing conflict with Russia, which began in February 2022. Mr. Kuleba emphasized the importance of achieving a genuine and fair peace that could pave the way for sustainable development, economic growth, and safety for our citizens.
