A seasoned judge from Utah, known for his active involvement with youth, has been accused of sending sexually explicit images and videos to young girls on an online messaging platform, as per reports from officials.
Kevin Robert Christensen, aged 64, was apprehended on Thursday after the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force discovered several sexually explicit chat conversations with young children on his KIK account, as reported by the West Valley City Police Department and multiple news outlets.
The disturbing chats involving the Box Elder County judge date back to last September, as per authorities.
Additionally, he is accused of sharing his disturbing fantasies about children in graphic detail with other adults on the platform, soliciting explicit images of minors, as reported by Longview News-Journal.
According to Fox 13, the police report stated, “The position of trust he holds in the community and the actions he undertook while in this position significantly undermine the confidence of the community in the legitimacy of the criminal justice system.”
The investigation into Christensen began on Feb. 28 when authorities discovered that he was engaging in discussions about sexually abusing children on the platform. Subsequently, numerous inappropriate chats with underage girls were found.
Investigators revealed that the judge had participated in “graphic sexual chats” with a user claiming to be a 13-year-old girl on Nov. 2, 2024, as reported by ABC4.
During the same conversation, Christensen allegedly sent the minor a video of an adult male engaging in a sexual act, as per Fox 13, and later dismissed their explicit conversations as mere “fantasy.”
