During a campaign event in North Carolina, JD Vance lashed out at journalists for constantly asking about Mark Robinson, the embattled Republican running for governor in the state.
Vance, who is also running for office, accused the media of focusing too much on Robinson’s controversies rather than discussing important policy issues.
“It’s a shame that the media is more interested in sensationalism than in covering the real issues that matter to the people of North Carolina,” Vance said.
He urged journalists to focus on the economy, education, and healthcare instead of constantly hounding Robinson about his past statements and actions.
Despite the criticism from Vance, journalists continue to ask tough questions about Robinson’s candidacy and his fitness for the governor’s office.
It remains to be seen how Vance’s comments will impact his own campaign and whether he will be able to shift the media’s focus onto his policy proposals.
