Vancouver police are currently investigating recent protests in support of the terrorist group Hamas, which involved the burning of a Canadian flag.
These demonstrations, held in solidarity with Palestine to mark the first anniversary of Hamas attacks on Israel, were deemed “intolerable, offensive, and unsafe” by the Vancouver Police Department (VPD).
The VPD has initiated an investigation “into the actions of protesters to determine if criminal offenses occurred.”
Footage circulating online shows protesters at an anti-Israel rally at the Vancouver Art Gallery on Oct. 7 burning a Canadian flag as the crowd cheers while a speaker chants “death to Canada, death to the United States, and death to Israel.”
The PFLP aims to dismantle Israel and establish communism in Palestine, utilizing violent tactics such as bombings and assassinations, according to Public Safety Canada.
“The people at Samidoun have shown us their true colors, demonstrating hatred towards Jews, Canada, and Canadians,” Vuong stated, questioning why Barakat is allowed to operate in Canada despite being banned from entry by Germany and other European nations.
Several Conservative MPs, including Deputy Leader Melissa Lantsman, have called for the banning of Samidoun and increased protection for Jewish communities in Canada.
In response, Liberal MP Jennifer O’Connell, Parliamentary Secretary to the Public Safety Minister, mentioned that the minister has referred the listing of Samidoun as a terrorist entity to national security advisers for an urgent emergency review.
