The Hateful Vandalism at Rep. Adriano Espaillat’s Office
Surveillance footage exclusively obtained by The Post captured the moment when anti-Israel vandals attempted to destroy Rep. Adriano Espaillat’s Washington Heights office.
The video shows two individuals, masked and hooded, initiating a violent attack on the lawmaker’s workplace. They lifted a roller door and proceeded to cause damage, leaving behind shattered glass, red paint, and the words “FREE GAZA” scrawled on the sidewalk.
Rep. Espaillat expressed shock at the scene and condemned the act of violence, stating that he had been named on a flier by anti-Israel groups protesting on Oct 7.
Despite the attack, the congressman emphasized the importance of peace and justice in resolving conflicts, criticizing the vandals’ resort to violence and vandalism.
Police and Espaillat confirmed that up to four suspects were involved in the vandalism, with the incident being investigated as a hate crime.
The vandalism, reported at 4:15 a.m., left Rep. Espaillat and his staff shaken, with efforts made to clean up the mess and ensure the safety of the workplace.
This was the second attack on the Washington Heights office, with the NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force investigating both incidents.
One year after the brutal attack by Hamas terrorists in Israel, tensions remain high in the region, with ongoing protests and demonstrations in Manhattan.
Thousands of anti-Israel protesters gathered, with some incidents of violence leading to arrests, including a man accused of assaulting an NYPD captain.
Despite these challenges, efforts towards peace and justice continue amidst the turmoil.
