A group of three violent teenagers was apprehended on Thursday night for committing two brutal robberies and a stabbing incident in Upper Manhattan, according to police and sources.
During their late-night crime spree, the two 15-year-olds and one 14-year-old violently robbed a man and a woman, and critically injured a 62-year-old man, authorities and sources reported.
The teenage suspects first targeted a 35-year-old woman who was walking home from a smoke shop on First Avenue near East 93rd Street on the Upper East Side around 10:10 p.m., police said.
They brandished a knife and demanded her phone, then forcibly took the device as they pushed her to the ground, according to authorities.
The group fled the scene and then proceeded to stab a 62-year-old man at East 97th Street and Second Avenue around 10:25 p.m., as per sources.
An eyewitness informed the police that the teens stabbed the man in the leg and torso before fleeing, sources mentioned.
The victim was transported to Weill Cornell Medical Center and was reported to be in stable condition.
The motive behind this attack remains unclear.
Later, around 11:20 p.m., the same trio reached East 110th Street near Third Avenue in East Harlem, where they allegedly assaulted a 63-year-old man by punching him multiple times in the face, the police stated.
They stole his backpack, which contained his wallet and credit cards, before running away, according to cops and sources.
The victim declined medical assistance for an eye injury, as per the police.
Swift-acting officers distributed a photo of the violent juveniles, leading to their apprehension inside a building on Fifth Avenue near East 111th Street, police confirmed.
The specific charges against the teenagers were not immediately disclosed.
