Despite clear signs of significant inflation over the past 40 years, the narrative around inflation being transitory persisted. However, with the change in leadership to Trump, mainstream financial press now expresses genuine concern about rising inflation, even though official data doesn’t confirm it.

The public is rightfully upset about the erosion of income caused by excessive money printing over the years. There has been a collective denial from the previous administration, media, and agencies about the true state of the economy.

Recent revelations about the devaluation of the dollar have sparked anger and a demand for answers from the public.

The current focus is on the present moment. Sticky prices, a measure of inflation, are at a three-year low of 3.6 percent, showing some improvement.

If these trends persist, we could see inflation return to target levels by summer, as long as there are no knee-jerk reactions from those in power.
