Dr. Kevin O’Connor reported that the president’s symptoms have shown significant improvement since the previous day.
President Biden received his fourth dose of PAXLOVID this morning. His main symptoms of a non-productive cough and hoarseness have improved significantly compared to yesterday.
“His vital signs such as pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and temperature remain completely normal,” Dr. O’Connor stated.
The doctor also mentioned that President Biden’s oxygen levels on room air are excellent and his lungs are clear.
After testing positive for COVID-19 on July 17 before a scheduled speech in Las Vegas, President Biden canceled all upcoming events and went back to his residence in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, for self-isolation during his recovery.
This latest letter from Dr. O’Connor marks the second update on the president’s COVID-19 symptoms. In the initial letter dated July 18, it was confirmed that the president had a fever and mild symptoms and was receiving Paxlovid treatment.
“The President is responding well to the treatment. We will continue with PAXLOVID as planned,” Dr. O’Connor stated in the second letter. “Meanwhile, the President remains dedicated to serving the American people.”
“I will continue to provide updates on any changes in his condition or treatment plan as promised,” Dr. O’Connor assured.
Dr. O’Connor mentioned that President Biden’s Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test confirmed his COVID-19 diagnosis, but the identification of the variant is still pending. The president’s bloodwork and Complete Blood Count came back normal, with no signs of anemia or bacterial infection.
A full metabolic panel revealed normal electrolyte levels, along with healthy kidney and liver function, according to Dr. O’Connor.
“I am eager to get back on the campaign trail next week to continue shedding light on the dangers of Donald Trump’s Project 2025 agenda while advocating for my own accomplishments and vision for America: a nation where we safeguard our democracy, defend our rights and freedoms, and create opportunities for all,” the president stated in a release from his campaign.
“The stakes are high, and the decision is clear. Together, we will emerge victorious,” he concluded.
