Greene expressed her deep sorrow over the tragic incident, stating, “I pray that this never happens again.”
During an auto accident involving a police officer responding to a bomb threat against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), a woman lost her life, as reported by the congresswoman.
The woman was identified by Greene as Tammie Pickelsimer.
“These violent political threats have dire consequences. They put undue pressure on law enforcement, who are obligated to take them seriously. The officer was responding to protect my life. And now, a woman has tragically lost her life due to this reprehensible act,” said Greene in her statement.
“I’m filled with both sorrow and anger. This should never have occurred, and I sincerely hope it never happens again.”
The Epoch Times sought comment from the Rome, Georgia police department but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
The threat contained pro-Palestinian sentiments, according to Greene’s office.
“Using a 1 x 8 inch threaded galvanized pipe, end caps, a kitchen timer, some wires, metal clips, and homemade black powder, I’ve assembled a pipe bomb that I recently hid in Marjorie Taylor Greene’s mailbox at [redacted address],” the threat read.
“It is timed to detonate over the weekend, but would also explode when anyone opens the mailbox. Even if Marjorie doesn’t open the mailbox herself, I am content with the idea of some police officers losing their lives or being injured. Viva Viva Palestina.”
This was not the first instance of Greene facing threats.
