The ongoing operation, known as Operation Consequences, conducted by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, resulted in the arrest of six individuals and the seizure of narcotics and firearms in the last week of March. The operation involved serving search warrants and contacting suspects in various cities in the High Desert region, including Hesperia, Highland, San Bernardino, and Ontario. A significant amount of illegal drugs and firearms, including ghost guns, were recovered during this period.
Funded by the county’s board of supervisors, the operation focused on suppressing crime in the High Desert region. It involved multiple law enforcement agencies such as the sheriff’s department gangs and narcotics investigators, the Specialized Enforcement Division, patrol stations, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Probation, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and the federal Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
The sheriff’s department plans to continue these crime sweeps throughout the year to combat violent crime, target criminal street gangs, and apprehend individuals involved in illegal possession, manufacturing, and trafficking of firearms.
